Back to School: what your child *really* takes to class
September means a fresh start: backpack, school supplies, uniform, lunchbox… everything seems ready. But one aspect is often overlooked: the invisible burden of electromagnetic fields (EMF) in the school environment.
Schools today are hotspots of connectivity: powerful Wi-Fi, multiple routers, 20–30 children per classroom with laptops, tablets, and smartphones, plus external sources like cell towers or power lines. This creates a unique situation where children are exposed for hours daily to a mix of EMF that can be much stronger than at home.
👧👦 Why children are more vulnerable:
- Their brains and nervous systems are still developing.
- Their skulls are thinner and absorb more radiation.
- The blood-brain barrier is less developed.
- Radiation absorption (SAR) can be up to 2x higher than in adults.
📌 Potential effects according to scientific research:
- increased risk of childhood leukemia and certain brain tumors,
- link to ADHD, learning and concentration problems,
- possible link to autism, obesity, and asthma,
- immediate complaints such as headaches, fatigue, irritability, or palpitations.
These are not isolated findings: worldwide, there are hundreds of testimonies from parents and schools reporting the same patterns.
🚫 Yet, the answer is not to ban technology.
The real solution is a balanced approach:
- Applying the ALARA principle (as low as reasonably achievable).
- Educating children and young people about responsible use.
- Utilizing proven technologies that filter and harmonize radiation instead of blocking it, so schools can remain digital without the biological risks.
🎯 This school year is an opportunity not just to impart book knowledge, but also to provide a healthy learning environment. Let's work together for radiation-aware schools – where learning and well-being go hand in hand.
